About Us

Welcome to Christ Evangelical Lutheran Church of Marshall, Minnesota.  We are excited to share the love of Jesus with you. We hope that once you know about our beliefs and purpose you will accept our open invitation to worship the Lord with us and maybe even join our family. 

Christ is a family united because we believe and confess that there is only one true God and that He has revealed himself as the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. This God created us and the world in which we live. He sent His Son, Jesus Christ, who was crucified and rose again from the dead to rescue us from our sins. We believe these truths from the Bible, which is the inspired and error-free Word of God.

Christ Evangelical Lutheran Church has been serving the people of Marshall with the true Word of God since 1888. We join other Lutheran Christians all over the world who share the same faith through our membership in the Wisconsin Evangelical Lutheran Synod or WELS. The WELS is made up of about 1,235 congregations throughout the United States and the world. As a member of this larger group we are able to reach more people with the life giving water of God's Word.

Christ Lutheran offers its members a chance to express their love and faith in many different ways. From choirs to youth activities, from ladies service groups to sports teams; the membership of Christ is alive and active.

Christ also owns and operates Samuel Lutheran School. It is a five-day-a-week Lutheran Elementary School for children in kindergarten through the eighth grade. We also run an early childhood center with preschool classes for children ages three and four. Before school care is available for preschool and after school care is available for preschool through the eighth grade.
